The Caterham 21 is a vehicle which, in Colin Chapman’s own words, “Provides the fun of a Seven with practicality and ease of use”.
Interestingly less than fifty Caterham 21s were ever made. Styled by Iain Robertson and developed by a team under Jez Coates, the aim was to have a car that offered "the chance to
experience Caterham motoring in a more practical format". Advertised as being the civilised face of the Super 7, the car was launched at the 1994 British Motor Show to celebrate 21 years of Caterham
Cars manufacture of the Super 7.
Weighing in at less than 700kg with a 1.6 K series engine developing 133bhp, the Super Sport with its lightweight chassis and composite body, delivers around 200bhp per tonne through its
6 speed gearbox. The end result being a traditional great looking sports car, which is Loud, Fast and Fun.
This car, which has had only two owners from new, looks purposeful yet elegant in its British Racing Green paintwork, and with lightweight aluminium alloy five spoke 7’x16” wheels. It
carries chassis number 46 which makes it is one of the last Caterham 21’s produced. This combined with the unusually extremely low recorded mileage of 2,687 (supported by previously MOT’s going back
to 2002), makes this car very rare indeed.
The paperwork includes the original bill of sale, Post Build Inspection Certificate and previous MOTs.
